cin cin, a series of split 12’s from fort romeau (ghostly int. / running back / robert johnson) and warm’s ali tillett. each instalment bringing together friends old and new in a spirit of collaboration and togetherness. kicking things off is label boss fort romeau and ex ostgut ton honcho and panorama bar man nick höppner. “untitled” sees fort romeau whip out the 909 for some acidtechnohousemusic while nick indulges in some ukg influences with steppers “stay” and “splicing hues”

rod, aka respected long-term dutch activist benny rodrigues, hands in another burning 4 track ep for figure spc. as the series approaches the zenith of its 26 chapter a-z journey, the quality shows no sign of dropping, with rods crisp and characterful techno trips inspired by classic minimalist traditions. over four, bleep infused, tracky and positively charged cuts, rod opens the doors for us into his latest hardware-driven studio sessions. each track is a carefully carved snapshot, a different specific moment for the floor, the producers talent for creating elegant moments of tense and playful techno is clear to hear.

it was in high school where music joined these two boys, exchanging deep techno and trance cassettes between classes. they grew and decided to study their passion, musical production. pablo & nani share the same style but each one does it differently in their own way, we could define it as deep tech-house. in this first ep they had clear ideas, they wanted to do a vinyl that could be played at the club, either in warm up and peak time, and they have done so. “the people we like” is the favorite of dactilar, modern deep house full of details with a clean groove. “for russia with love”, pablo’s favorite, classic deep techno in honor of all his russian followers. “krampf” is the bad guy of the movie, mental techno for long dj mixes, and “the hum”, dark and powerful from beginning to end. after so many years we are pleased to present pablo bolivar & dactilar together.

cristi cons and vlad caia are household names that really need no further introduction. their dj sets are techno stories well told and their live act is already making waves worldwide. amphia is first and foremost the platform they use to broadcast their finest works. such is the case of sideways, their latest lp, containing more than a dozen tracks coming your way trilogy style.
the first part reveals six tracks on two heavyweight discs. although most of the tracks fit the usual sit musical approach, the listener is greeted with a wide pallete of rhythms. assemble is an atmospheric dub infused with violins and orchestral echoes. permissive starts things up with a playful bass progression and continues with lush pads and cryptic voices. brooklyn’s deep moody synths and monster groove render it broken poetry at it’s best. for sure it will resemble those early danceable mornings. on a more joyful manner we are presented next with bootcamp s sturdy baseline and playful modulated vocals.
mandatory claims a whole side of the second disc and so does come around. while the first is almost experimental but danceable and warm due to the occasional driving percussions and 303 sounds the latter is the star of the show. come around is 15 minutes long and comes with a story too. a great collection of tracks, a great story that backs each one of them makes the first part of the sideways lp trilogy a treat to listen and dance to.

ltd 2015 repress ...the mysterious new barefoot beats label drop a killer, extremely limited 10inch of rare brasilian disco grooves for their debut. nyc dj legend eric dunks duncan flips a classic brasilian groove on the a side that really gets the party started. on the b, sao paulo based disco fiends selvagem hook up with carrot green and build a seriously heavy latin bomb that pays tribute to their beloved bahia where the mareh festival is held each year.

this project is a long distance collaboration between two amazing artists: andrea noce and david kristian during the year 2013. each track have been made after set up basic guidelines (style, tempo, structure, and workflow).

for those who maintain the more mutable dance music is, the deeper its impact on human evolution, rvng intl. presents we are not the first, an epic conducted and deconstructed by chicago artist hieroglyphic being and the j.i.t.u. ahn-sahm-bul. hieroglyphic being & j.i.t.u.. ahn-sahm-bul develop consciousness from primordial ooze. as in listening, the ooze intones an echo of our deep past, rendering the present ever focused. we are not the first is an 11-part epic and each track is a movement therein that testifies: an ensembleãs vitality lives in its collectivity.

ynk’s 2nd ep for polytone is much more than a continuation of his earlier records on polytone and tenderpark. instead, the young artist wants his new ep to be seen as an autonomous work which draws on a multitude of different materials. this leads to a very fluid texture of samples, synths and drum machines and a very detailed structure at first sight - however, all elements fit into each other very nicely and make way for the bigger picture if you take a step back.

sold out! what happens when scales and patterns of contradicting emotional imprints combine? when light and darkness, bitter and sweet, frost and blaze collide? those are the questions that johannes heil chooses to address on his upcoming album, opening up a vast grey-scaled area for the listener to traverse with techno as a blindfold. <black light> sees the german techno mainstay return to the album format for an intimate ten track odyssey of close-curtained introspection. heil chooses the words of fellow futurist nikola tesla to set the stage of the black light story: >black is the true face of light, only we do not see this<. track names are dropped in favor of a chronology of scenes, better adapted to the seemingly polar opposition of the forces that the figure and cocoon regular conjures throughout the album. everything that we perceive is processed and set into relation with past memories, digested emotions and iron-branded impressions. battling the current, johannes heil chooses to challenge certitudes by forcing us out of our comfort zones into the absence of light. if the pictures painted on >black light< are dark, they are also far from monochromatic. the machine-driven sonic prism acts both as the heavy cloud and the burst of light that shoots through to guide us. its the aggressor and the victim, the clenched teeth and the jubilant, the paranoia and the sanity of the mind. its pure heads-down driving techno with volumes of grandiose. provoking our senses, extending his art onto our personal canvases, the exile boss gives the listener the freedom to interpret the emotional context of each piece, to write the scripts of the individual scenes. the impression that >black light< leaves upon first listen testifies that 20 years down the road, johannes heil shows no sign of slowing down.

one of the most respected producers in the underground, anaxander, contributes two beautiful pieces of original music, and has one of them reworked by deep house heavy hitter, the mighty amir alexander. lost my soul (in yours) is twisted little number, with dual synth riffs echoing off each other for maximum effect. a question about you uses jazzy chords and flutes over its undeniable bassline to retain some soulful flavoring, but amir strips all of that away on his interpretation, preffering instead to let the acid and the warehouse vibes have their way, taking things right into a 6am rave nightmare. this is absolute must-have piece of wax!

luigis primo and unconditional beauty both made their way through the charts to become number one in the techno charts and we are tipping magic land to do the same! storming his way back onto drumcode luigi madonna closes off the summer with a 2 track ep smasher that will see him welcome in autumn with a bang. each track contains the solid, raw drums that are the backbone to each track luigi has conjured up. with a brooding undertone, the simplicity found in each track gives the lead lines and ideas more space to breath, which overall creates a unique and charismatic submission that can only be found from the italian.

this new strand release on lowriders, maleza is a very personal take on bass music, juke, west coast hiphop, jamaican music, prepared pianos, old detuned synths, odd time signatures and huge live reverbs. the idea of the record came when i was going through a lot of personal struggle and i was not able to get out of it. in the same period i decided to run in the woods near my home early in the morning. i ran every day, and ran and ran. eventually i got out of my problems. so i left the maleza away. this is a very personal record, each sound has a deep meaning about me and my loved ones. maleza means bad herbs, weeds, undergrowth in spanish.

nutabe still traveling between sounds we like. dijon triathlon is the solo project of jose santamaria, who for the second reference of discos nutabe brings with him the synthetic and diminutive of house music. pandemia its an ep that returns to the early and mid-2000s, when the microhouse takes the worlds dance floor. three beautifully produced sound and impeccable cuts, where each element has a meticulous preparation and a single order. simple sounds that fill a full dijon triathlon style.

groove line records are proud to add to their 2015 releases of half-speed mastered re-issue singles with both the extended special disco version and instrumental version of earth wind & fire s 1976 funk bomb getaway gracing each side of a 180g 12” virgin vinyl disc. looking to gain on his groups critical and commercial success from the early 1970s ew&f s main man maurice white brought in the legendary charles stepney, who had tutored him at chicago s chess records in the 1960s, as the co-producer and arranger on their incredible 1976 album spirit, which opened up with the formidable funk track getaway. co-written by guitarist, vocalist and songwriter bernard “beloyd” taylor (s.o.u.l.) and songwriter peter corbelenky around the theme of escapism and self-fulfilment, the primal urgency of getaway was the ideal composition for white to record with ew&f. white felt the song s energy and positive, uplifting lyrics matched the attitude and ethos of his group perfectly. as a result ew&f created a funk gem both musically and lyrically perfect for the dance floor.

marco bernardi returns to brokntoys for yet another rollercoaster of emotions. switching between jittery house, lo-fi nagging electro and blissed out techno with nods to detroit. vinyl comes hand stamped complete with individual screen printed artwork unique to each copy.

6th release of the parisian label d.ko records. this record is a tribute to the club « le malibv » which recently closed and where d.ko held countless parties. « le malibv » offered the opportunity to a lot of young djs and promoters from the new generation to present themselves in the french capital. as a duty and for the memorable parties they held there, the label wanted to thank the club for all the good vibes shared. each artist in this record has played at le malibv on a d.ko party and present his vision of a night there.

live-session originated sounds develop with each other and unite to a specific old school techno sound.

a double whammy of scottish techno as two of the biggest names in todays scene collide in one almighty bang as slam & clouds take on each other with devastating outcomes. originally a hit for clouds in 2013, complete control is given slams expert remix treatment and turned into one peak time burner whilst remaining true to the originals machine gun snares and ominous vocal sample! clouds delve back into slams extensive back catalogue, bringing back the monstrous stepback. clouds revitalise it for the modern age, coming at it all guns blazing and delivering a broken beat, snare driven beast.

from deep within the shadows, grant steps out with his debut album *the acrobat* on enigmatic label the lauren bacall. lush atmospherics lift up each of the high-flying tracks on *the acrobat*, crafting a sense of euphoria and ease that is reminiscent of such deep house from late 90s early 2000 inspired by labels such as early plastic city, deep4life, and svek.

succeeding his profound and forward-thinking album >depth charged< which was revealed last february, terence fixmer returns with >depth charged remixed< featuring ostgut tons answer code request and uk’s underground techno hero steve bicknell. >elevation<, originally the final track of the album, emotional and reflective, is kicked up a notch by acrs patrick gräser by adding ponderous drum patterns making it perfect for the floor. conversely, steve bicknell takes on >unforeseen<. with its fast paced rolling bass it is now put into top gear shivering with feverish reverberations. to compliment each variation, included on the ep are fixmers own live versions that have energetically filled dance floors throughout his tour.

bleed follow up their inaugural release, by volte-face, which received plays and praise from the likes of dvs1, pangaea, luke slater, marcel fengler, blawan, erol alkan and anthony parasole. rote is a debutant artist, formed by volte-face and daniel avery, best known for his lp drone logic , widely considered to be one of the breakthrough dance albums of the last decade. rote is a project with no precise mission statement. the goal is to approach each studio session with a fresh impetus, to release club eps with minimal fanfare and fuss. the ep features two densely atmospheric, peak-time techno tracks as well as remixes from semantica head svreca, and arguably the most prominent contemporary techno artist in japan, dj nobu. a small pool of djs have received the tracks ahead of promo, with early support from nina kraviz, dvs1, silent servant, tripeo, ryan james ford, jp enfant, distant echoes and samuli kemppi

fourth chapter of the label, signed by carlo zanelli. ep run six tracks, three for each side, ranging from deep house to electro and back. childhood, a warm house piece opens a side, whereas an electronish track called patient x will follow. on the flip side, space 2000, an hypnotic dance floor oriented tune, opens the triptych and the ep is closed by sunrise, a melodic 90ish idm track.

informa records comes with the 8th release of the series, symbiosis ep by deepbass (edit select, dynamic reflection) and reggy van oers (af fin, several reasons). the release consists of two original tracks, a side deepbass - symbiont is an ever evolving progression that lures you from the outset growing continuously before reaching a climatic peak staying within the hypnosis throughout. b side reggy van oers - tunnel dweller is a darker affair which focuses on the purity of each individual element within the track. with a sinister constant flow, seductive escalating atmosphere and subtle creative effects. the tracks complement each other nicely while showcasing the signature sounds of each artist.

the summer of 2015 sees gruuv celebrate 5 years in the game. we have put together a brand new compilation featuring 25 of our favourite artists, which will be released as 6 x 4 track vinyl releases every two weeks throughout the summer and features artwork from the renowned victoria topping. each ep will be released on limited edition vinyl, with a free poster and sticker inside, uniquely stamped from 001 - 500. thanks to everyone involved, all around the world. music provides the greatest unity. it strips away indifferences, supersedes language, nationality, culture, all defining human factors, and leaves one common thing we can all interpret, sound.

drew mcdowall’s back story reads like a primer of psychedelic fiction woven into statements of the unbelievable, superhuman and outright insane. somewhere in the chaotic madness, comes an artist such as mcdowall with total control and absolute calm within his songs and artistic method.
dais records approached drew to solidify his standing as a leading electronic musician with the recording of new material neatly wrapped up in his debut album entitled “collapse”. recorded in 2015 in brooklyn, ny, mcdowall’s synonymous modular synthesizer compositions are augmented by obtuse sampling cut-ups and contributions from nicky mao (hiro kone / effi briest) rounding out the lumbering sequential knot work that has become synonymous with mcdowall and craft.
